The Recovery After Laser Liposuction

While some plastic surgery procedures require a long list of post-op instructions, SmartLipo's recovery process is much simpler. The heat from the laser's energy results in significantly reduced side effects and lessens the risk of complications after surgery. The laser used in SmartLipo seals the open blood vessels and lymphatic channels as it goes through the fat and melts it. This reduces blood loss and lymphatic leaking during the procedure as well as the magnitude of bruising and swelling after.

As soon as the Smartlipo procedure is over, the body will begin healing itself. Regardless of being done under general or local anesthesia, patients can leave the facility where the procedure was performed as the anesthetic wears off. Patients will go home with compression garments applied. This could be a wrap-around abdominal binder, a compression girdle, ace wraps on the arms, or a neck strap, depending upon the area treated. These compression garments have no magical properties and are not singularly responsible for the cosmetic outcome. But they do help with pain and comfort as they hold the area tight and prevent the areas treated from moving around excessively...and painfully. The very small incisions where the laser probe and cannulas were introduced will drain a little and that is perfectly OK. Sometimes these will be left open so that drainage can occur. This drainage will usually stop in a day or so. There is no care required of these small incisions. (i.e., no need for antibiotic creams)

With traditional liposuction, the recovery period can be weeks or even months. Extensive swelling and bruising was normal and the pain was significant. With Smartlipo, the recovery is definitely quicker with less pain. Many patients can resume their regular work and social activities within the first few days. Smartlipo still does have some swelling but with less pain, activities and exercise can resume sooner which increases circulation to the treated areas. As circulation is increased with greater postoperative activities, the swelling that does develop will go away quicker.

As Smartlipo is often done with other cosmetic face and body procedures, the amount of recovery will be extended as the operation and trauma to the body increases. But when done as a stand alone procedure, Smartlipo offers some real recovery advantages over traditional liposuction.

Prom Tips - Steer Clear of Too Much Makeup For the More Natural Look

Makeup is often one of those things you can have too much of. The latest fashion trends are all the same. They all say that less is more. Having just enough make up gives you that amazing look you are after without making it look fake or overdone. As you consider the options you have for makeup for prom, keep in mind a few tricks and tips that can help you to look as natural as you would like to, but covering those flaws and enhancing your beauty. You do not need a lot of makeup to create a great look.

For the first step, choose the right concealers. On young skin, it is unlikely that you need a large amount of foundation, which simply clogs pores. Rather, use a concealer to hide any blemishes and to mask any discoloration. If you do use a foundation, match it to your skin tone well. Do not go with a too dark foundation, as it will look bad. You want to keep your skin even and using a natural foundation is always important. Once you have this in place, you can choose just a few more items to put on.

Choose an area of your face to highlight. This is likely to be your best feature. Do you want your eyes to stand out or do you want your lips too stand out. You can even highlight your cheeks if you would like to. When you select just one location to highlight, the result is fantastic. Let us assume that you select the keys. To keep them natural looking, do not put too much eye makeup on. Rather, go for a light layer of colors that really help your eyes to pop. Use a blend of three shades of eye shadow. Use eyeliner that is a lighter color.

For the other areas of your face, choose appropriate colors to create a natural look. For example, the lips do not have to stand out. Use a lip liner and lipstick that is just slighting different from your lip's natural color. For your cheeks, choose a color of blush that is just slighting darker than your skin tone. Apply it just to the cheekbones in a sweeping motion. This is where your face would normally blush.

When you keep colors and tones in check, you create a very beautiful, natural look. You will want your makeup to look great on your prom night, so give yourself the chance to try out a few different combinations in the weeks leading up to prom. Remember, this is a special night, so you do want to invest in a look that is stunningly beautiful. Going for a natural, but well-done look is key here.
